Reading – Exodus 19:2-6a
In those days, the Israelites came to the desert of Sinai and pitched camp. While Israel was encamped here in front of the mountain, Moses went up the mountain to God. Then the LORD called to him and said, “Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob; tell the Israelites: You have seen for yourselves how I treated the Egyptians and how I bore you up on eagle wings and brought you here to myself. Therefore, if you hearken to my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my special possession, dearer to me than all other people, though all the earth is mine. You shall be to me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation.” – The Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 100:1-2, 3, 5
R. We are his people: the sheep of his flock.
Sing
joyfully to the LORD, all you lands; serve the LORD with gladness; come before
him with joyful song.
R. We are his people: the sheep of his flock.
Know
that the LORD is God; he made us, his we are; his people, the flock he tends.
R. We are his people: the sheep of his flock.
The
LORD is good: his kindness endures forever and his faithfulness to all
generations.
R. We are his people: the sheep of his flock.

Reading – Romans 5:6-11
Brothers and sisters:
Christ, while we were still helpless, yet died at the appointed time for the ungodly. Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
How
much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved
through him from the wrath.
Indeed,
if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his
Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life. Not only
that,
but we also boast of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. – The Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.
Alleluia
– Mark 1:15
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel
– Matthew 9:36—10:8
At the sight of the crowds, Jesus’ heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”
Then he summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness. The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector;James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon from Cana, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.
Jesus
sent out these twelve after instructing them thus, “Do not go into pagan
territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house
of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at
hand.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without
cost you have received; without cost you are to give.” – The Gospel of
the Lord.
All: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he
suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Prayer of
the Faithful
P✠: Let us pray to the Lord.
All: We ask you Lord, listen to our prayer, we ask you
Lord, listen to our prayer

FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.
P✠: In a similar
way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more giving thanks,
he gave it to his disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,

Christ.
All: For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
now and for ever.
P✠: Lord Jesus
Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look

peace and unity in accordance with your will. Who live and reign for ever and
ever.
All: Amen.
P✠: The peace of the Lord be with you always.

P✠: Lord Jesus
Christ,....
P✠: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes
away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Lest you dash your foot against a stone *

RECESSIONAL HYMN
Amazing
Grace
1. Amazing grace how
sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me,
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
2. ‘Twas grace that
taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved,
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed.
3. Through many
dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come,
‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.
4. When we’ve been here
ten thousand years.
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong
Messengers of Hope
O Lord, You are the source of all blessings and you guide the
course of human history by your Providence.
With gratitude we thank you for the establishment of our Diocese
eighty years ago.
In the footsteps of our predecessors, we have steadfastly kept the
heritage of our Faith over the years and so have been able
to experience your unfailing help in the face of challenges;
to regain strength in our weakness;
to restore hope in our discouragement;
to look for your direction when we have lost our way.
As your children, may we always entrust ourselves to you in
humility. May we always respond to your calling for us to carry on our mission
to spread the Gospel and bear witness to our faith in Hong Kong, sowing the
seeds of love and hope while living in joy and peace.
We ask this in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
